About GATE Exam
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science for admission into the Master’s Program and Recruitment by some Public Sector Companies. GATE 2022 is going to be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and six other Indian Institutes of Technology at Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Chennai, Roorkee & Indian Institute of Science at Bengaluru on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE) 2022 on 05 February 2022, 06 February 2002, 12 February 2022 and 13 February 2022 at the various exam test centers of 199 cities throughout the Nation.

- 2nd September 2021 Online Application form started.
- 30th September 2021 Online Application form closed. (Regular)
- 7th October 2022 Online Application Form closed with late fee.
- 18th November 2022 Last date for rectification of application.
- Admit Card of GATE 2022 is now released on 15th January

- 5th February,6th February,12th February and 13th February Date of GATE examination 2022.

A candidate can appear either in ONE or UP TO TWO papers of the GATE 2022 examination.
Previous year question papers are available on the website
You can download the previous year’s question paper from 2007 to 2021 of every course. You have to go to the website and click on the previous year’s question papers to select the year of the paper.
On the website of IIT Kharagpur, it is also mentioned that,
GATE 2022 will be conducted only by seeing COVID-19 conditions. If the condition will not be normal, the exam may get postponed or canceled . But as of now, the admit card is released now, and chances of exam postponement are very low.

Why are students demanding the postponement of GATE 2022?
Students appearing for GATE 2022 have already started requesting postponement of the GATE 2022 exam on social media because of the sudden rise of Covid-19, Omicron cases in India. At the same time, a section of students wants to appear for the exam.
An aspirant said, “Due to increasing cases in India, it’s not the right time to conduct Gate 2022 exam. We are requesting you to postpone it as soon as possible. In August, we need a gate scorecard for admission to master courses so we can delay it.”
But Admit Card of GATE 2022 is released now, and after checking their centers, students are advised to start revising for the exam because the exam is very near.
