    ACT vs SAT: How to Decide Which Test to Take

    Students are faced with many confusing decisions when they are applying to college. One of these decisions is between taking the SAT Or ACT exam. The majority of colleges accept either one, but some have their preferences.

    The ACT exam is designed for students in the US and Canada. It has four sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science. It measures how well students have learned what they were taught in school.

    The SAT exam is also for US and Canadian students. Still, it is more global than the ACT as it is accepted by more universities outside of North America, such as Oxford and Cambridge Universities in the UK and universities in Australia and New Zealand.

    The science section is included in the ACT exam.  In the SAT exam, one additional Maths section is included. For the Math section, the use of calculators is prohibited.

    Eligibility criteria of both SAT and ACT exams:

    There is no age limit for candidates willing to appear in the examination. At the same time, the minimum age of a candidate to appear in the SAT exam is 17 years. 

    ACT VS SAT Timing and Exam Pattern:

    • The duration of SAT exam is of 3 hours, and 
    • The ACT exam is 2 hours and 55 minutes. 

    The ACT’s 40-minute optional writing test can be a little longer for more than 3 hours 30 minutes. 

    There are a total of 154 questions asked in the SAT examination. On the other hand, in the ACT exam, there are 215 questions. 

    Breaking the Test Components: SAT Or ACT

    In the SAT exam, 

    • The reading test takes 65 minutes
    • Writing and language test takes 35 minutes
    • The math section takes 80 minutes 

    In the ACT exam:

    • The reading test takes 35 minutes
    • English test takes 45 minutes
    • The science test takes 35 minutes
    • The math section takes 60 minutes 

    In the SAT exam, there is no separate section of Science. However, students will get science-related questions throughout the examination. 

    The scoring criteria of both examinations are also different from each other. 

    For the SAT, total scores range from 400-1600; for the ACT, the composite score runs from 1-36. The optional ACT writing test does not include this score. It will be scored separately.

    Usually, students have such questions in mind, like Is SAT Exam Easy? Or Is ACT Easier Than SAT? Well, neither SAT nor ACT exam is easy.     The pattern of Exam about NEET 2022-

    Each question carries 4 marks and there is also negative marking for wrongly answered questions. It means 4 marks are given for each correct answer and 1 mark is cut forever wrong answer.
    Unattempted questions are given no marks.

    Cut off Percentile about NEET 2022-

    Cut-off marks usually change every year.
    Percentile is 50th for unreserved category.
    For reserved categories, it is 40th percentile.

    The sky on top of my head was making its own way through the gigantic clouds, while I was having a cup of coffee through my fragile lips, gazing at the tiny crystals created by the fog of the dawn. The birds flew across my rooftop, fluttering their wings against the wind flying along the beautiful horizon of the ocean, while the sun was rising right in front of my pale blue eyes. And then, I sensed someone placing a heavy arm on my weak shoulder, which brought me back to the real world.

    ‘Surya, what are you thinking of by gazing at the lake come on let’s get back to our work’.
    I am Surya a man of a lot of aspirations and stupid expectations from this rotting world, which is becoming worse with every rotation of this blue planet, and I here work as a delivery boy in this huge urban city. But I don’t belong to a family of possessions, or freedom or space. In fact, I don’t have enough money to eat thrice a day properly, which makes my stomach growl with hunger, I have a little sister who always dreams to be a pilot and fly in the air like an eagle, spanning its wings across the blue smeared the sky for the search of those little moments of excitement and real happiness.

    I can never make a good first impression with my uncombed hair, greasy hands, torn shirt and dusty pants of my fragile body, which makes every rich urban person doubt my existence. Some show kindness, some show pity, some treat us like rotten insects. I lost my parents while I was 6 years old, lost their lives, not because of their deadly illness, but because of their inability to pay the hefty amount of money for their treatment.

    There is always something we expect from this life, but things don’t go around in our favour, sometimes thinking of reality, tore us apart into million pieces, sometimes I doubt my existence. I face scary nightmares where I see the blood draining from my thick skull, oozing out through tiny pores, where I see blue smeared sky turned into a dark liquid, filling the throats of the dead humans who thrive for money, lust, and other unexplainable things.

    But these things cannot stop the fire blazing through my veins, I don’t care if I burn in these ashes, but I want to meet those expectations which I created, no matter if it takes me through my deepest fears, I will rise like a burning sun, just like my name, I am Surya and I will rise like a burning eagle up in the sky.

    लेखक कौन है? वह एक चित्रकार ही तो है जो अपने शब्दों के चित्र से आपको दुखी, खुश, चंचल या अशांत कर देता है। केवल किताबें लिखने वाला ही लेखक क्यों होगा? कविताएँ लिखना लेखक या कवि शब्द को पूरा कैसे कर सकता है? वो लड़का जो मेरे साथ ही पढ़ता है, मेरे जीतना ही पढता है, मुझसे ज्यादा अंक कैसे पा लेता है? उसकी तो कोई किताब भी नहीं छपी! वह भी तो एक लेखक ही होगा, जो पढ़ाई जाने वाली तमाम बातों को पिरो देता होगा ऐसे शब्दों में जिसमें पिरोना हम और अप नहीं जानते और वो विवश कर देता है उस परीक्षक को ज्यादा अंक देने की खातिर। वह क्या लिखता होगा? महज वहीं बातें जिसके दूसरे रूप को हमने भी समाहित कर दिया है उन 32 पेजों में, लेकिन उसका संतुलन ही तो था जिसने उसे सबसे अलग बनाया।
    लेकिन वह लेखक क्यों नहीं बन पाता, क्योंकि वह डरता है, उस समाज से जो उसे एक टॉपर होने के बाद लेखक के रूप में स्वीकार कर पाएगा या नहीं? वह डरता है अपनी पहली लिखी हुई उस अभिव्यक्ति के छाप से जिसे लोगों द्वारा स्वीकार किया जाएगा या नहीं। वह डरता है अपने पिता के उस सपने से जो टूट जाएगा उसके इंजीनियर ना बनने के बाद और वो डरता है उस समाज से जहां लेखक होना कुछ भी ना होने जैसा है। उसे तो लेखन शुरु करने में भी डर लगता है, क्योंकि सच को पढ़ेगा कौन? स्वीकारेगा कौन? उसके झूठ लिखने की कीमत क्या होगी? उसे खरीदेगा कौन? अपना झूठ बेचकर जब वो शाम रोटियाँ खाएगा तो क्या उसका सच उन रोटियों को नकारेगा नहीं?
    खैर कोई और है जो लिखता है, फिर मैं उसे लेखक क्यों नहीं मानता? कुछ लोग बस पैसों के लिए लिखते हैं, कुछ लोगों का शौक है कि मुझे लिखना है लेकिन उन्हें पता नहीं कि लिखा क्या है? तुकबंदी मिला कर वाह वाह पाने के लिए भी लिखने वाले हैं। कुछ बस उसी को लिखते हैं जिसका उन्हें निर्देश मिला है। वे बस ऐसे ही हैं जैसे किसी को कहा गया है सीधा जाना तो वो तालाबों को तैर रहा है और काँटों में पैर को रक्तरंजित कर रहा है। उसका विवेक अनुसरण मात्र कर रहा है। यह निर्णय नहीं कर पाने वाला व्यक्ति है मैं इसे लेखक क्यों कहूँगा? लेखक तो वह है जो अपने लेखन से समाज में ज्वाला लाए और तब कई लोगों के निर्णय बदल जाएँ।
    राजा का गुणगान करने वाला तो बस चाकर है, वह सत्ता बदलने की काबिलियत भी नहीं रखता और वह कौन है जिसे हर सही को भी गलत कहना है? उसे अच्छाई दिखती तक नहीं वह कैसे लेखक बन सकता है?
    सच को सच और झूठ को झूठ कहने का साहस नहीं है कैसे लेखक बन जाओगे? राजा ने गलत किया और तुम उस गलती पर पर्दा डालने के लिए के लिए लिख रहे हो, राजा ने किसी को पुरस्कार दिया और वो उसे जनता के पैसे का दुरुपयोग बता रहा है, दरअसल तुम दोनों ने ईमान बेच दी है। जाओ ईमान लाओ फिर खुद को लेखक कहना।
    लेखन कार्य के लिए पैसे मिलेंगे में जितनी जल्दी हाथ उठाते हो यह कहते हुए कि हाँ मैं तो लिखता हूँ, मैं लिख लूँगा, इसके पहले यह जानो कि लिखना क्या है? तुमने आखिरी बार ऐसा कब लिखा था? क्या तुम वहीं लिख पाओगे जिसके लिए पैसे मिल रहे हैं? नहीं! फिर हाथ नीचे रखो, सीखो कैसे लिखना है, कितना लिखना है? राज्य की राजधानी की खूबसूरती बतानी है, जो राजा के जन्म के सदियों पूर्व से बनी और अब तक चली आ रही है इसमें बस राजा की सुंदरता मत बताओ, तुम्हें पैसे राजधानी की खूबियों को बताने के लिए मिल रहे हैं, राजा को खुश करने के लिए नहीं। पड़ोसी की बेटी गलत सुई लगने से मरी है, तुम बस उस डॉक्टर को इसलिए भगवान लिख रहे हो कि परसों तुम्हारी बेटी को वो सुई देगा। उस डॉक्टर को गलत बताने के लिए अपनी बेटी के मरने तक का इंतजार मत करो, लेखक बनो सच लिखो, संतुलित लिखो…….

    हिंदी दिवस विशेष: इसमें किंचित भी संदेह नहीं कि एक भाषा के रूप में हिंदी हम भारतीयों की सबसे बड़ी पहचान है। इसके साथ ही, यह भाषा हमारे जीवन मूल्यों, संस्कृति एवं संस्कारों की सच्ची संवाहक, और परिचायक भी है। हिंदी विश्व की सबसे सरलतम, सहज एवं सुगम भाषा होने के साथ विश्व की संभवतः सबसे वैज्ञानिक भाषा है। संसार में हिंदी का अध्ययन कर इसे समझने, बोलने और चाहने वाले लोग बहुत बड़ी संख्या में उपस्थित हैं। यदि हम आंकड़ो की बात करें तो मंदारिन एवं अंग्रेजी के बाद, हिंदी विश्व में तीसरी सबसे अधिक बोली जाने वाली भाषा है।

    भारत में यदि हम हिंदी भाषा की स्थिति की बात करें तो यह कुल ग्यारह राज्यों एवं तीन केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों की मुख्य राजभाषा है। 2011 की जनगणना के अनुसार भारत की कुल आबादी में से लगभग 41.03 प्रतिशत लोगों की मातृभाषा हिंदी है।

    भारतेंदु हरिश्चंद्र के साहित्यिक युग में भाषा ने अपने ब्रज स्वरूप के माध्यम से लोगों के समक्ष लोकप्रियता हासिल की। जैसे-जैसे समय बीता और भाषा ने द्विवेदी युग में अपनी खड़ी बोली स्वरूप को ग्रहण किया जो आज भी हमारे समाज में अपनी बुनियादों को मजबूती से पकड़कर आगे बढ़ रही है।

    हिंदी हमारे पारम्‍परिक ज्ञान, प्राचीन सभ्‍यता और आधुनिक प्रगति के बीच एक सेतु भी है। धार्मिक दृष्टिकोण से इस भाषा ने सदैव हमारी मूलभूत संस्कृति तथा मान्यताओं को संरक्षित रखने का प्रयास किया। हिंदी साहित्य जगत में गोस्वामी तुलसीदास जी, रहीमदास, आदि कुछ ऐसे विशिष्ट व्यक्तित्व रहें जिन्होंने भारत की प्राचीनतम इतिहास एवं धर्म से संबंधित मान्यताओं को लोगों तक बिना किसी संकोच के पहुंचाने का प्रयास किया। गोस्वामी जी रामाधारा काव्यों का सृजन कर, भक्ति परंपरा में क्रांति की नई लहर उतपन्न की। धर्म तथा संस्कृति के संवाहक के रुप में यहां भी हिंदी ने एक उत्कृष्ट भूमिका निभाई।

    मगर, इतिहास निश्चित ही इस तथ्य पर आधारित नहीं कि आने वाले समय में भी सब कुशल हो। हिंदी का एक भाषा के रुप में जो उत्थान हुआ, उसे समाप्त करने में भी कोई क़मी नहीं की गई। आर्य समाज में पाश्चात्य संस्कृति के आगमन ने ही इसकी नींव रख दी थी। पराधीनता के कारण हमने जो आर्थिक और सामाजिक दंश झेला, उसने हिंदी के अस्तित्व पर भी एक गहरा प्रभाव डाला। अंग्रेजी भाषा की लोकप्रियता ने मानो किसी दीमक की भांति हिंदी की जड़ों को धीरे-धीरे समाप्त करना शुरु कर दिया। इन सबका एक दुखद परिणाम तब सामने आया जब स्वतंत्रता प्राप्ति के बाद भारतीयों की सभा ने हिंदी को राष्ट्रभाषा का स्थान देने के विचार का विरोध किया।

    भलें ही विरोधियों की संख्या मुट्ठी भर रही हो, मगर किसी भाषा के अस्तित्व के लिए इससे दुखद क्या हो सकता है? जिस समाज में इस भाषा ने अपना स्वरूप ग्रहण किया और बदले में विश्व स्तर पर भारतीयों की पहचान बनकर उभरी (हिंदी दिवस विशेष), उस भाषा को उसी देश के लोगों द्वारा बहिष्कृत किया जाना निश्चित रुप से भाषा के साथ अन्याय है।
